Design Lighter-Weight EV Batteries & Improve Performance
Light-curable materials help strengthen the structural reliability of EV battery packs and aid in producing lighter-weight batteries, which can improve BMS responsiveness and range in electric vehicles.
Eco-friendly, one-component, low-VOC products replace technologies that contain hazardous ingredients, produce waste, or require higher amounts of energy to process. These features help lower manufacturers' carbon footprint and help meet ESG requirements.
LCMs cure quickly when exposed to UV/LED light to help increase the manufacturing productivity and throughput of EV hybrid and Li-ion batteries, decrease rework and costs, and improve the bottom line. Solutions include:
- High-strength LED-curable structural adhesives for fixturing EV battery cells-to-cells and cells-to-cell carriers.
- Conformal coatings and encapsulants for protecting PCBs and critical components in BMS and EV charging stations from thermal shock and humidity, and corrosive elements like salt and sulfur.
- Potting compounds for fixturing battery cells to the base. They have excellent bond strength to plastics and metals and superior resistance to chemicals and thermal shock.
- Form-in-place gasket sealants form barriers to prevent penetration of air, dust, noise, liquids, gaseous substances, or dirt. They offer sound and vibration dampening, moisture and chemical protection, and air sealing.
